Shocking £16.99 delivery charge for an address 25 miles outside of Aberdeen
My order value was £99 after using my £10 off voucher. I was charged £16.99 for courier delivery. Order placed on Sat 14th Jan, arrived pm on the Wed. My friend in Aberdeen ordered at the same time (£94.00) and got free delivery. Her order arrived on the Tues. She is in Aberdeen, I am 25 miles outside of Aberdeen just off the main route Aberdeen-Inverness (A96). I called Germaine on the Monday to query the charge and was told that a review had been done regarding delivery charges. Disgraceful. £16.99 and it took 3 days to get to me.Hi Belinda and thank you for your frank and honest feedback. I'm so sorry that you had a bad experience ordering with us.We did indeed have a review of our delivery prices recently as there is such a difference in cost from one area to another. Wherever we charge for delivery, we actually do so at cost price and do not add anything for packing.However, you have highlighted something that we overlooked - We were offering free delivery to addresses within our own shipping zone but those in other areas were not benefitting from the same concession. We have therefore decided to absorb the same amount of delivery cost (£5.52) on ALL orders, reducing the cost for deliveries in all other areas.We have also added this amount in credit to your account.This page gives all the costs for the various areas around the UK: https://germaine-de-capuccini.co.uk/delivery-info/Unfortunately, the quickest we can get orders to your area is 2 working days from despatch. Although your friend is only 25 miles away, the different areas mean different terms from our courier.Thanks again for bringing this to our attention and please do call if you would like to discuss further.

I'm delighted to let you know that we have negotiated our prices with Royal Mail's "Tracked 48" service and we now offer a free delivery option for the whole of mainland UK, including the Scottish Highlands. We also offer Royal Mail Tracked 24 for just £3.50 nationwide. Thanks again to bringing this to our attention!
